The Pilot Alpin 5 SUV is Michelin's Light Truck/SUV Performance Winter / Snow tire developed to meet the needs of enthusiast drivers of performance-tuned pickup trucks, crossovers and SUVs who don't want wintry conditions to prevent them from enjoying their vehicles year-round.

A winter-focused compound molded into a highly siped, directional tread pattern features broad shoulder blocks and a wide, central groove to blend stability and cornering grip on dry roads with hydroplaning resistance and traction in slush, snow and on ice. A specialized undertread minimizes energy dissipation to reduce rolling resistance and aid fuel economy, while the two-ply, reinforced polyester casing improves sidewall robustness for added durability. Two high-strength steel belts supporting the tread are reinforced by a polyamide cap ply to aid in handling responsiveness and provide high-speed durability.

Pilot Alpin 5 SUV winter radials meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Note: Snow platform indicators (the equivalent of `snow wear bars`) are molded into the Pilot Alpin 5 SUV tread grooves to inform the driver when deep snow traction will be reduced as the tire's tread reaches the point where the remaining tread depth becomes less effective in deep snow.

Install Pilot Alpin 5 SUV tires in sets of four only.

The Endurance is Goodyear's special purpose trailer tire developed specifically for use on travel trailers, pop-up campers, boat trailers, toy haulers and fifth wheels. Endurance trailer tires are designed with durability in mind to help make towing a trailer less stressful by reducing impact-related failures experienced during use.

Special purpose trailer tires are not intended to be used on cars or light trucks.

Endurance trailer tires feature a rounded profile to help cushion the trailer's ride, and the symmetric tread design with closely spaced ribs provide constant rubber-to-road contact for straight tracking, dependable highway stability and long-lasting wear. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts with a two-ply nylon reinforcement to stabilize the tread, increasing traction and durability. The Endurance features a polyester cord body to help smooth out the trailer's ride, and a scuff guard is molded into the sidewall to further increase durability by resisting damage from contact with curbs during parking lot maneuvers.

Special purpose trailer tires are not UTQG rated.

Tires Scores Compare

How we score

N/A

Treadwear Performance

N/A
N/A

Treadwear is vital to many things, not just how often the tires need replacement. Hydroplaning and wet weather are both critical factors that wear down your tire quickly. The warranty covers any defects in what you bought but only for a limited period or when there's minimal tread left on them.

Wet Perfomance

N/A
8.2

The wet performance score is a new thing that tire manufacturers are trying to achieve. The hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, and steering response all influence this new grading system.

Hydroplaning Resistance
i

The hydroplaning resistance is measured by the hydroplane depth test and the dynamic aquaplaning test, which measures how much water can be accumulated on the tire's surface before hydroplaning occurs.

8.2
Wet Traction
i

Wet traction estimates the level of grip on wet pavement. Tread design with deep grooves dramatically improves confidence when driving in the rain as they channel the water out much better.

8.2
Steering Response
i

The vehicle's steering response largely depends on the tread depth, tire width, air pressure, and aspect ratio. Wide high-performance tires are equipped with a continuous center rib providing instant steering response.

8.9

Dry Perfomance

N/A
8.8

Tires with good dry performance should be able to perform smoothly and safely, even when cornering aggressively.

Cornering Stability
i

A dynamic cornering test is often used to assess cornering stability under dry conditions.

8.8
Dry Traction
i

Dry traction level depends on many factors, including tread design, profile shape, and compounds.

8.8
Steering Response
i

The vehicle's steering response largely depends on the tread depth, tire width, air pressure, and aspect ratio. Wide high-performance tires are equipped with a continuous center rib providing instant steering response.

8.9

Comfort Perfomance

N/A
9.2

The comfort performance score is designed to measure the balance between ride quality and noise level.

Ride Quality
i

The excellent ride quality means you do not feel the bumps or cracks on the road. Larger tires with thick and deep tread patterns decrease the number of jolts allowing you to glide over bumpy road textures.

9.2
Noise
i

If you would enjoy a quiet chat with the passengers while children are sleeping or listening to music, not the sound of tires, definitely pay attention to the noise score.

9.2

Winter Performance

N/A
N/A

Winter Performance score helps us understand if the tire is the appropriate option for winter conditions that your vehicle will face. Dedicated winter tires provide a firm grip when driving through snow and on ice. Performance winter tires boast a higher speed rating and better handling but deliver modestly lower ice and snow traction.

Size
i

Tire size may be indicated in two formats:
– metric (P255/45R18 103H)
– high flotation (30x9.5 R15 104 F C)
In the metric system, P - stands for the passenger vehicles (LT - for Light Trucks, ST - Special Trailer) with a width of 255 millimeters, aspect ratio (sidewall height) equal to 45% of the tire height. R means it is radially constructed with a diameter of 18 inches. 103 denotes the tire's load index and H determines the speed rating.
In the high flotation system, the first number (30) is the overall diameter of the tire, the second number (9.5) is the width in inches.

Utqg
i

Uniform Tire Quality Grade Standards (UTQG) were designed to offer consumers with useful information about the treadwear, traction, and temperature capabilities of their tires in order to make better decisions when purchasing new tires.

N/A
Max. load
i

The maximum weight that a tire can carry is the greatest amount of weight it's designed to bear. Because load carrying capability is dependent on a tire's size and construction, as well as how much air pressure is actually utilized, maximum loads are measured with the tire inflated to an industry standard inflation pressure.

111 (2400 lbs)
Max. speed
i

The maximum speed that a tire with this type of tread can safely travel for an extended amount of time is indicated by the tire speed rating, which is usually shown by a letter or two.

A
Max inflation pressure
i

The highest "cold" inflation pressure that a tire is meant to contain is its maximum inflation pressure.

50 | 34
Tire weight
i

The tire weight is determined by the type and size of the tire. As the tread depth of the tire wears down over time, so does its weight.

34
Rim width range
i

Tires may be used on rims of varying widths while still fulfilling their intended function.

7-9""
Meas. rim width
i

The measuring rim width is the common industry minimum rim width at which a tire must be mounted to validate that it meets design specifications.

10.5/32""
Overall diam.
i

The overall diameter of a tire is the outer diameter of the tire, measured in the center of the tread. This measurement is made without any load placed on the tire and after it has been properly mounted on its industry-assigned measuring rim and inflated to its test pressure after 24 hours.

30.04
Revs.per mile
i

The revolutions per mile figure indicates the number of times a tire rotates during one mile's travel.

671.4/mi
Country of origin
i

The short name of the country where the given tire was manufactured.
